Summary

北海道帯広市にある「森のスパリゾート 北海道ホテル」にて開催されるイルミネーション2025-2026～HOPE the FUTURE～の演出・制作を手がけました。 寒冷地で開催される本企画「Hope the Future」は、光・音・影を通して、静寂の中に宿る「希望」を体感する屋外インスタレーションです。来場者は鑑賞者ではなく、この庭を巡る旅人として、光に触れ、音に耳を澄まし、自身の感覚で物語を完成させていきます。冬の庭に広がる静けさの中で、眠り、兆し、再生へと移ろう時間を15分のループ演出として構成。自然の循環と人の感覚がゆっくりと重なり合い、「希望は与えられるものではなく、内側から灯るもの」であることを描きます。

We were responsible for the direction and production of Illumination 2025–2026 “HOPE the FUTURE”, held at Forest Spa Resort Hokkaido Hotel in Obihiro, Hokkaido. Hope the Future, held in a cold-climate setting, is an outdoor installation that invites visitors to experience the “hope” that dwells within stillness through light, sound, and shadow.Guests are not mere spectators, but travelers wandering through the garden—touching light, listening closely to sound, and completing the story through their own senses. Set within the quiet winter garden, the installation unfolds as a 15-minute looping experience, moving gently through phases of sleep, awakening, and regeneration. As the slow rhythm of nature’s cycle intertwines with human perception, the work expresses the idea that hope is not something given, but something that quietly ignites from within.

ボタニカルキャンドルインスタレーション

植物たちの記憶を、小さな灯りとして空間に散りばめたボタニカルキャンドルのインスタレーション。揺らぐ灯りは、夜の庭に穏やかなリズムを生み出し、来場者の歩みとともに静かな時間を紡ぎます。ひとつひとつの灯りが、未来へと続く気配をそっと運ぶ存在です。

A botanical candle installation in which the memories of plants are scattered throughout the space as small points of light. The gently flickering flames create a calm rhythm in the night garden, weaving quiet moments that unfold alongside each visitor’s steps. Each individual light subtly carries a sense of continuation, hinting at a future yet to come.

ナイトガーデンインスタレーション

夜のホテルガーデン全体を舞台に、光と空間によって構成されるインスタレーションです。庭園内には、風の流れや雪の気配、樹木の揺らぎといった自然現象に呼応するように演出が配置され、庭そのものが持つリズムや呼吸を可視化していきます。光は装飾として庭を照らすのではなく、環境と関係しながら存在し、周囲の状態によってその表情を変えていきます。来場者が歩くことで視点が移動し、見る位置や距離によって風景の印象は常に変化します。そのため、この庭にはひとつの完成形は存在せず、体験の数だけ異なる風景が立ち上がります。来場者の動きや滞在の仕方そのものが体験の一部となり、空間に変化をもたらします。歩く、立ち止まる、振り返るといった行為が新たな光の関係性を生み出し、夜の庭に多層的な表情を与えていきます。自然と光、空間と人の関係をゆるやかに結び直しながら、庭を「鑑賞する場所」から「体験が生成され続ける場」へと変えていくインスタレーションです。

This installation uses the entire hotel garden at night as its stage, composed through light and space. Within the garden, elements are arranged in response to natural phenomena such as the flow of wind, the presence of snow, and the gentle movement of trees, making visible the inherent rhythm and breath of the garden itself. Light does not illuminate the garden as mere decoration; instead, it exists in relationship with the environment, changing its expression according to surrounding conditions. As visitors move through the space, their viewpoints shift, and the impression of the landscape continually transforms depending on position and distance. For this reason, there is no single, fixed form of the garden—distinct landscapes emerge with each individual experience. The movements and ways of lingering of visitors themselves become part of the experience, bringing subtle changes to the space. Actions such as walking, pausing, or turning back generate new relationships between light and space, giving the night garden layered and evolving expressions. By gently reconnecting the relationships between nature and light, space and people, this installation transforms the garden from a place to be observed into a space where experiences continue to be generated.

動物インスタレーション

この土地を生きる動物たちをモチーフに、抽象的な造形で表現したオブジェ作品。具体的な姿ではなく、気配や存在感を輪郭として象っています。庭の中に静かに佇む動物たちは、自然と人との距離をやさしくつなぎ、風景の一部として、命のつながりを感じさせる存在となります。

Abstract sculptural objects inspired by animals native to this land. Rather than depicting their forms literally, the works capture their presence and subtle traces as outlines of existence. Quietly standing within the garden, the animals gently bridge the distance between nature and people, becoming part of the landscape and evoking a sense of life’s interconnectedness.

モチーフと造形 十勝の自然景観との共生をテーマに、地域の生態系を象徴する馬・鶴・ウサギ・リス・シマエナガの5種をモチーフとした屋外照明を制作しました。動物の彫刻的なフォルムをあえてスライスされた板が並ぶ「構造物」へと置換することで、抽象度を高めたアート作品として構築しています。

Motif and Form Inspired by coexistence with Tokachi’s natural landscape, we created outdoor lighting installations featuring five animals that symbolize the local ecosystem: the horse, crane, rabbit, squirrel, and long-tailed tit. Rather than depicting the animals figuratively, their sculptural forms are reinterpreted as layered structures composed of sliced panels, resulting in abstract art pieces that emphasize presence and form over literal representation.

デザインコンセプト 周囲の自然環境と調和することを目指し、抽象表現と環境要素の関係性を重視しました。 レイヤー構造によって、見る角度により動物の輪郭が浮かび上がったり、背景に溶け込んだりする視覚効果を生み出しています。また、抽象的でありながらも生命感を感じさせる自然なポージングを取り入れ、雪が造形の一部となるよう設計することで、光・造形・自然が相互に作用する表現としました。

Design Concept With the aim of harmonizing with the surrounding natural environment, the design focuses on the relationship between abstract expression and environmental elements. The layered structure creates visual effects in which the animals’ outlines emerge or blend into the background depending on the viewing angle. While abstract in form, the sculptures incorporate natural, lifelike postures, and are designed so that snow becomes part of the composition—allowing light, form, and nature to interact seamlessly.

過酷な展示環境への対応 屋外かつ降雪地帯での展示を想定し、素材・構造・照明仕様を最適化しています。光をやわらかく拡散するアクリル素材とレイヤー構造により、意匠性と強度を両立。屋外対応LEDを採用し、低温や積雪といった厳しい環境下でも安定した発光と安全性を確保しています。

Adaptation to Harsh Outdoor Conditions Designed for outdoor installation in snowy climates, the materials, structure, and lighting specifications were carefully optimized. A layered construction using acrylic panels that softly diffuse light achieves both visual refinement and structural strength. Outdoor-rated LED lighting ensures stable illumination and safety, even under low temperatures and heavy snowfall.

光の樹

本企画の中心となる象徴的な作品。庭に佇む「光の樹」は、この場所に積み重なった時間と記憶を宿す存在です。来場者がそっと手を触れると、光が変化し、樹が静かに呼応します。「手が光をつくり、光が心を映し、心が世界を灯す。」人の行為が光を生み、その光が感覚に返り、やがて世界の見え方を変えていく。希望が内側から芽吹く瞬間を体感できるインスタレーションです。

The symbolic centerpiece of the project. Standing quietly in the garden, the Tree of Light holds the layers of time and memory accumulated in this place. When visitors gently place their hands upon it, the light responds, and the tree softly resonates with their touch. “Hands create light. Light reflects the heart. And the heart illuminates the world.” Through this sequence, human action gives rise to light, the light returns to the senses, and gradually transforms the way the world is perceived. This installation invites visitors to experience the moment when hope begins to emerge from within.
